Intended refurbishment project
The Haddenham Social and Sports Club committee is thrilled to announce an exciting plan for the total refurbishment of the club. This project aims to transform both the exterior and interior, making it a modern and functional hub for the local community.

Your views and ideas are crucial for creating a space that everyone can enjoy. The committee has already secured funding for the first phase, which involves a complete overhaul of the seating area in the dance room. This upgrade will immediately brighten up the entire space.
Refurbishment Phases
The refurbishment will be carried out in four phases:
Phase One: Dance Room Seating
- Focus: Refurbishing and recovering the seating area, including alcoves and free-moving chairs.
- Timeline: Work will commence as soon as practical.
- Benefit: Immediate improvement in comfort and aesthetics.
Phase Two: Weatherproofing and Solar Panels
- Weatherproofing: Adding a second “top roof” over the existing roof to seal leaks and modernise the design.
- Exterior Cladding: Cladding the front and sides of the building to blend with the local environment and create a rustic feel.
- Solar Panels: Installing solar panels to generate energy, reducing electricity costs by feeding power into the national grid.
- Condition: This phase will commence upon a successful grant award.
Phase Three: Dance Hall and Kitchen
- Dance Hall: Relocating the gents’ toilets to create more kitchen space, redecorating the dance area, and adding pauser plinths to structural pillars.
- Dance Floor: Sanding and sealing to restore it to its former glory.
- Kitchen: Equipping with new cooking, preparation, and storage units to maximize functionality.
Phase Four: Back Bar Area
- Entrance: Widening and straightening the front door passage leading to the bar for a warmer and more inviting entrance.
- Bar Extension: Extending the bar to reduce queues during busy periods.
- Toilet Renovation: Making the gent’s toilet smaller and positioning it in line with the lady’s toilet.
- Decor and Furniture: Adding new carpets, tables, chairs, a second pool table, and a new darts’ area.
